Description
OYT - Order of the Youthful Tigers based in: Chicago , Cook County The Order of the Youthful Tigers traces its beginnings to the late 1930s and 1940s in western and southern suburbs of Chicago, particularly Cicero, Maywood, and Harvey. Initially, it was a loose band of second-generation immigrant youths -- predominantly Jamaican, Puerto Rican, and Polish, with a growing number of Eastern European members by the mid-40s -- who felt alienated from their parents' old-world traditions and the rigid institutions of American society.
