Description
"𝑮𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒘𝒂𝒚 𝑺𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒆" Cheyenne was founded in 1884, after settlers traveling west began to outnumber the indigenous population of the area. Cheyenne's name is derived from the Cheyenne Tribe, which even today remains in the area on designated reservations. The state's landscape consists mostly of flat grasslands which are mostly used for agriculture, however, the westernmost portion of the state contains foothills which lead into the Rocky Mountains. Cheyenne has and remains to be a mostly agricultural economy, with a small industrial sector. The State Capital is situated in the state's largest city, Martinsville.
