Description
The United States Army in the Victorian Era had suffered a failure very early on, in the unsuccessful War of 1812 against the British Empire, but many victories for them were yet to come. After years of fighting minor wars against tribes in the Western Territories, the United States Army made a come back in the Mexican-American war by defeating Mexico, and occupying Mexico City. The Army's successes in the Mexican-American war proved them to be a capable fighting force, and a capable fighting force is exactly what was needed by the Union in the very close future to defend the Union and freedom of all Americans.
