Description
High in the floating uplands of Samnium the Numina of hills and mountains danced around tall immovable spears that nearly pierced into the heavens, and amongst these spears the tribe of the Pentri augured their primacy over all other Samnite tribes. It is from the tribe of the Pentri that the plebeian Gens of Decimia derive, in the taurine city of Bovianum. Oral tradition carried by tired wordsmiths say that the original Decimii were amongst the first of the ancestors who, ousted from their ancestral tribe in the ritual of Ver Sacrum, laid the foundations of Bovianum after having followed a sacred bull summoned by Mamers. Throughout their existence the Decimii have amassed great wealth, seemingly blessed by the Gods, or so some say due to the sunny crowns of hair that some of the Decimii parade over their heads - perhaps a symbol of divine ancestry, after all it is said that the Numina also danced with man as well.
