Mary, who is a governess coming from a teaching job in Istanbul, is put on a train, along with 12 other passengers and staff, one of whom is Hercule Poirot, the world-famous detective. During the lavish train ride, a murder occurs, sending Mary, along with 11 other suspects scrambling around in a frenzy to find the killer.
