Along with the German chancellor's warmongering through the Ems dispatch, the French Empire has no choice but to declare war for its own safety. The French Army by this time was a force to be reckoned with. Gaining experience from its campaigns in Algeria and Greece, France had as professional an army as Napoléon's Grande Armée in the past.
