The Kingdom of Benwick is one of 4 British (human) Kingdoms in 1421 (The others being Camelot, England, and The Restored Kingdom of Anglo-Britain). King Claudas, a Frenchman rules the Kingdom, having killed King Ban (Father of Sir Lancelot). The Kingdom is very supportive of France...However Claudas cannot come out in total support of France at the time because it would loose the allegiance of Arthur's Camelot, who supports England, and is needed in the war against The Restored Kingdom of Anglo-Britain, who threatens Benwick as well as Camelot, Highrock, and Lorithen. Benwick is closely associated with Camelot. Claudas is seen as bending to Arthur's every will.
