Description
𝐃𝐞𝐮𝐭𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐬 𝐇𝐞𝐞𝐫 The German Army (Deutsches Heer) was the primary ground force of the German Empire during the Great War and upon the outbreak of war in 1914, numbered almost 4 million men. Using the Schlieffen Plan, the Germans managed to successfully push the French and British deep into France and threaten Paris. However, they were soon turned back at the Marne and were forced to retreat all the way to the frontiers of France where they would hold for the duration of the war. By the end of the first year of fighting, the German Army would incur massive casualties with half a million dead, wounded or captured.
