Description

The Johor Military Force (JMF) was established in 1886 by Sultan Abu Bakar and is the only state military force in Malaysia. The JMF Band was created as part of military tradition influenced by the British system. Its main functions are to accompany Johor royal ceremonies, military parades, and official protocol events. Over time, the band has developed to include members trained in music and performs a variety of pieces, including state songs, patriotic music, and modern compositions. The JMF Band also takes part in public performances. Its role is important in preserving Johor royal traditions, fostering patriotic spirit, and serving as a symbol of pride for the state of Johor.
