Region of Hamilton #695166631
Description
The Region of Hamilton was founded along the western shores of Lake Ontario, situated just an hour west of Toronto and east of the United States border. The region’s earliest development can be traced to explorers and settlers who arrived from Upper Canada in the mid-18th century, drawn to the natural harbor and the protective ridges of the Niagara Escarpment. Human settlements within the region were recorded as early as 1765, when trading posts and small hamlets began forming near the waterfront. Throughout the late 1700s, groups from surrounding colonial territories established farms, mills, and early civic institutions, gradually shaping what would become a thriving industrial corridor. The Region of Hamilton consists of several administrative areas, including the District of Barton, District of Wentworth, District of Albion, and the District of Redhill, each contributing within the region. However, the primary setting of our game focuses on the District of Wentworth.
