𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 The Neapolitan generalstaff was made of foreigners under the reign of Joseph Bonaparte, when Joachim Murat took the Neapolitan throne in 1808, he made drastic changes, bringing in more native Neapolitan staff and promoting based on Merit rather than nationality and background. By the time of 1811-1813 it was a very capable group of men, with some of its best generals being comparable to some of the best french generals.
