UNOFFICIAL TRADELANDS FACTION Chartered by Queen Elizabeth I in the year 1600, the Honorable East India Company's primary purpose was centralized around securing and expanding British trade in the East Indies, particularly valuable goods such as spices, silks, tea, and cotton. Initially a commercial enterprise competing with other European powers, the company had risen significantly in prominence by the conclusion of the Seven Years war, which sought the company gaining political and military control over Bengal, one of India's richest provinces. From there, it steadily extended its authority over much of the Indian subcontinent, transforming from a mere trading enterprise into a de facto colonial power. The Company now expands its interest toward the contested Central Isles, establishing its presence in maritime region and securing trade agreements with the surrounding powers. With piracy threatening its gains, the Company's navy is often dispatched to safeguard its trade routes.
