Description
In 1879 the Village of Covington was founded upon a hill facing east, the city thrived in an economy and industrial and railroad needs, and as time went on the starting village formed into a town, and soon a city. In 1898 the then town of Covington formed the Covington Hose Company, which held a horse drawn pumper wagon for fires maintained by a group of around 10 volunteers. It wasn't until 1904 that the now Township of Covington formed the Covington Township Union Volunteer Fire Company, which received a new Pumper wagon numbered Pumper 22, and a new ladder wagon numbered ladder 22. Jump 122 years, and we're operation stronger, and better than ever, using 3 Large Stations with 4 Chiefs, and PLENTY of manpower.
