Description
相撲協会 Sourudipu Sumo Association ======================================================= Sumo (lit. “striking one another") is a form of competitive full-contact wrestling where a rikishi (wrestler) attempts to force his opponent out of a circular ring (dohyō) or into touching the ground with any body part other than the soles of his feet (usually by throwing, shoving or pushing him down). It has a history spanning many centuries and retains much of its ancient traditions and ritual elements going back over a thousand years. ======================================================= Here the aspiring Rikishi of Sourudipu train and learn the art of sumo so that they may participate in regular activities with both profession and resolve. Any of those ranked gakusei or higher may participate in Sourudipu Sumo. ======================================================= Next Honbasho: Natsu (Summer) Basho TBA Next Basho: Saturday, April 24th, 2021;
