The Kingdom of England was among the most powerful states in Europe during the medieval period. England was a ########## country and was in principle opposed to the ######## Holy Roman Empire and the Spanish empire as well. Also, the rebel King of Bohemia, Frederick V, was married to Elizabeth Stuart, daughter of England’s King James I, so when Bohemia rebelled against the HRE England sympathized. England did not participate in the war to the extent other European countries did, but many English and Scottish mercenaries joined the ########## armies in the 30 Years War.
