Here is no beginning, only the Current. It moves beneath every city, every screen, every breath. It is not wind, not code, not spirit—only the Pale Current, older than names. It does not speak; it pulls. Those who feel it first notice the silence behind their own thoughts, the way a room empties when they enter, the way mirrors fog when they stare too long. The masks were never made. They were found. White porcelain, smooth as drowned stone, etched with lines that hurt to follow. When pressed to the face, the mask does not cover—it replaces. The old name falls away like shed skin. What remains is Kin. The Current flows through the hollows where eyes once were. It does not promise power. It takes the need for it.
