Description
The Royal Navy is a technologically sophisticated naval force, and as of April 1966 consists of 7 aircraft carrier, 20 battleships, 40 destroyers, 50 Cruise, 25 submarines, 60 corvettes and other ship around 400 ships. Command of deployable assets is exercised by the Chief of Navy. Personnel matters are the responsibility of the Second Sea Lord/Commander-in-Chief Naval Home Command, an appointment usually held by a vice-admiral.
