This community is based around the American Civil War. The Civil War was fought in the United States from 1861 to 1865, and was started because of uncompromising differences between the Northern and Southern States both Politically and Financially. War broke out in April 1861 when secessionist (Confederate) forces attacked Fort Sumter in South Carolina shortly after Abraham Lincoln had been inaugurated as the President of the United States, and ended April of 1865, when Confederate Generals surrendered the last major Confederate army to the Union. The North and South community is dedicated to providing a well organized and entertaining recreation of various battles of the Civil War, giving both sides an equal representation. The political and moral views of the Union and the Confederacy do not represent the views of the North and South group or its members.
