𝘼𝙧𝙢é𝙚𝙨 𝘾𝙖𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙡𝙞𝙦𝙪𝙚 𝙚𝙩 𝙍𝙤𝙮𝙖𝙡𝙚 La Armées Catholique et Royale was the name given to the royalist armies in western France composed of insurgents during the war in the Vendée and the Chouannerie. The first confrontations broke out in 1792 and developed in stages into a peasant revolt, then guerrilla warfare, and eventually to full-scale battles, ending only with their defeat by forces of the Republic in 1800.
