Description
Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron 163 (Reinforced), known as HMM-163 (REIN), was one of the Marine Corps’ most distinguished medium helicopter squadrons, renowned for its combat assault support, rapid mobility, and expeditionary aviation capabilities. Flying the CH-46 Sea Knight, the squadron specialized in transporting Marines, equipment, and supplies into hostile and austere environments in support of Marine Air-Ground Task Force operations. When reinforced, HMM-163 included all aviation assets of a MEU aviation combat element (ACE).
