The Department of the Army is the combined military force of the Enclave The Enclave is a post-War institution that developed from continuity of government of the pre-War federal government of the United States of America, frequently styling itself as the United States of America. The Enclave's ultimate plan to survive a nuclear war was simply to find another planet to live on after blowing up this one. A spacecraft designed to ferry the human race to another planet was either under construction or ready to go before the War.
