𝘼𝙡𝙨𝙤 𝙠𝙣𝙤𝙬𝙣 𝙖𝙨 𝙍é𝙜𝙞𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙙'𝙃𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙮 Regiment of Hervilly Before the Revolution, with the agreement of the future Louis XVIII the regiment was formed; the only regiment raised in the name of Louis XVII. The officers even managed to make their regiment regard the new administrations as enemies. In 1793 the regiment was reformed out of rebels in Toulon, 350 would escape after the Siege of Toulon. Charles d'Hervilly goes to Great Britain and obtains the authorization to raise a regiment, as one of the units of the army of the emigrants. Most of the men are veterans of the mainland wars coming from Toulon. In 1795 the regiment will take part in the landing at Quiberon capturing Fort Sans-Culotte. But their sacrifice is in vain, like that of a standard-bearer of the regiment who adds before dying: Save my flag, and I die happy. Charles d'Hervilly, seriously injured dies.
