Sirvieron como detalles de protección y guardaespaldas para importantes oficiales imperiales, además de ser utilizados como expertos en misiones especiales y comandos especializados. Los soldados de la muerte fueron entrenados en combate sin armas, armas pesadas, demolición y francotiradores.
