They sought to establish a military government that promoted militaristic and expansionistic ideals, and was largely supported by junior officers. They rivalled the moderate Tลseiha for influence in the army until the February 26 Incident in 1936, in which they staged a coup d'รฉtat against the government to make the Shลwa the supreme leader of Japan, and this led to their demise.
