Description
The term courts is a term used to widely define the adjudicial branch of government; the judiciary. The Lockridge Courts consists of two primary levels with separate jurisdiction. The Supreme Court, which serves as an appellate court on matters of precedence or public interest. The District Court is a lower tiered court, responsible for hearing general criminal, civil and expungement matters, but without appellate jurisdiction from any other court. The Supreme Court is headed by a Chief Justice, whereas the District Court is headed by a Chief Judge.
