𝟸𝙽𝙳 𝚁𝙰𝙽𝙶𝙴𝚁 𝙱𝙰𝚃𝚃𝙰𝙻𝙸𝙾𝙽 "Rangers lead the way" ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ The 2nd Ranger Battalion was an independent battalion of the United States Army. It was temporarily attached the the 29th Infantry Division for the duration of Operation Overlord. On April 1, 1943, the 2nd Rangers were activated at Camp Forrest, Tennessee. Training for the new Ranger volunteers was intense, and many of the men were eventually returned to their original units. The Ranger fought all the way through the ETO, engaging in many of the major battles - Pointe Du Hoc, Omaha Beach, Cherbourg peninsula, Crozon peninsula, Hurtgen Forest, The Ardennes and Central Europe. 2nd Ranger Battalion is divided into six infantry companies Able, Baker, Charlie, Dog, Easy, Fox and a HQ and HQ Company with an attached Medical Detachment. The Battalion is only 60% the size of a standard Infantry Battalion, there is 68 people per company with 1 company aidman assigned to each company. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
