Description
Established in 1821, Woodbury Township is a mining municipality located in Clark County, Mayflower. The township's economy relies entirely on the coal industry, as shown in its official motto, "In Coal We Confide." The municipal seal features a bison, crossed axes, and a cross, which represent hard labor and the endurance of the local population. The township's finances are overseen by Chief Treasurer Dolsmile. Known for extreme budget cuts, Dolsmile tightly controls all municipal funds. This strict financial management directly impacts public safety, as any requests for law enforcement funding must pass harsh, regular audits. As a result, Woodbury law enforcement operates on a very low budget. The department’s main duties include protecting critical coal shipments from highwaymen and patrolling abandoned mine shafts. Woodbury Police are forced to secure the area against Clark County syndicates using limited, retired gear.
