Welcome to the Maui Department of Transportation (MDOT). The Maui Department of Transportation is responsible for keeping the island’s roads, highways, and public infrastructure running safely and efficiently. MDOT personnel manage traffic control, road maintenance, construction zones, and assist during major incidents to ensure safe travel for the community. Members of the department play an important role during emergencies by supporting police, fire, and medical services with road closures, traffic management, and scene safety. MDOT teams also work to maintain transportation systems, repair damaged roadways, and help keep traffic flowing across the island. Employees begin as trainees and can work their way up through the department by staying active, following procedures, and contributing to a professional roleplay environment.
