Description
「萌え」という言葉自体の意味は広く、その起源は定かではありませんが、「萌える」という言葉が由来だと考える人もいます（おそらく、キャラクターに対する芽生えつつある感情を暗示しているのでしょう）。あるいは、『美少女戦士セーラームーン』のキャラクター「土萠ほたる」に由来する可能性もあります。これは1990年代初頭にインターネットフォーラムでオタクの間で流行した俗語で、2000年代にはマスメディアにも広まりました。その後、この言葉は「かわいい」ものすべてを表す言葉へと進化しましたが、この記事では本来の意味に焦点を当てています。
