ስዋው ሓዳሪ Sawa Hadari is one of those Chewa regiments that was founded in the early days of the Empire. It was founded to be the Emperor's guard, and it continues to be to this day. They marched on Adwa as the personal guard of King Menelik of Shewa/Emperor Menelik II of Ethiopia. They were some of the most skilled infantrymen of their day, and if you were at war with Ethiopia, you might just wanna retreat if you see these guys marching towards you.
