Description
The Coruscant Guard is an elite security and military unit in the Star Wars universe, specifically made up of clone troopers assigned to protect the capital planet Coruscant during the time of the Galactic Republic. Overview The Coruscant Guard—also known as the Red Guard clones—served as a specialized division of the Grand Army of the Republic. Unlike standard clone troopers who fought on distant battlefronts during the Clone Wars, these soldiers were stationed primarily on Coruscant and focused on internal security. Role & Duties Their main responsibilities included: Protecting key government buildings like the Senate Guarding high-value prisoners Acting as military police within the Republic Escorting important political figures Responding to emergencies and threats on Coruscant They were essentially a hybrid of soldiers and law enforcement officers.
