Description
The 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗰 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 (𝗖𝗛𝗔) is the federal authority responsible for granting and registering coats of arms, flags, and badges in Canada. The Heraldic Authority works across government and with Canadians to ensure heraldic emblems are designed, authorized, and recorded according to Canadian traditions and legal standards. It brings together officers and staff dedicated to preserving national heritage, promoting ceremonial symbols, and supporting official heraldic functions. The Heraldic Authority operates under the authority of the Office of the Governor General of Canada and includes key functions such as: • Heraldic design and consultation • Granting of coats of arms, flags, and badges • Registry maintenance and archival duties • Public outreach and education
