[Army] [Information] The army is part of the Swiss army. It includes the 1st, 4th and 11th Mechanized Brigades. The battalions subordinate to the Mech Br include the combat troops, combat support, and command support. The army is responsible for training the Mech Br and for the further development of the ground sphere of operations. The Army offers a wide range of military skills and training. This applies in particular to the armored troops (Pz Bat, Mech Bat, Aufkl Bat, Pz Sap Bat), artillery, operational logistics, parts of the command support troops and the medical services. When an operation is triggered, the chief of the army determines a command structure tailored to the task. The operation is usually managed by the operations command as a so-called "Joint Force Command". The army can be used with its brigades or it can serve as a "force provider".
