ᴀᴛʜ | Erechtheis #762397504
Description
𝐀𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐍𝐈𝐀𝐍 𝐓𝐑𝐈𝐁𝐄 ───────────────────────────────────────────────── The Erechtheis Phyle was named after Erechtheus, the legendary king and founder of the Polis of Athens, often attached to Poseidon in his role as god as "Poseidon Erechtheus". It was comprised of 14 demes. Their iconography features the patron of Athens, the war goddess Athena. The Athenians think of themselves as Erechtheidai, the "sons of Erechtheus". In Homer's Iliad, Erechtheus is the son of "grain-giving Earth", reared by Athena. Renowned sculptor Cephisodotus the Elder belonged to this tribe. Athenian poet, philosopher, and political leader Critias may have as well.
