THE MOST HONOURABLE EAST INDIA COMPANY AUSPICIO REGIS ET SENATUS ANGLIAE The East India Company is a joint-stock company founded in 1600, formed to trade in the Indian Ocean region, especially in the East Indies. The Company has been charged with ruling over the large areas in India since 1757 when the Company was victorious in the Battle of Plassey resulted in the British annexation of Bengal. The Company rules over India as the sovereign power on behalf of the British Crown and is regulated by the British Parliament. Each of the former principalities, or presidencies of Bengal, Madras, and Bombay, maintained their own armies for the defense of their interests from foreign invaders. Currently enlisted; Army of the Presidency of Fort Saint George - 4th Regiment of Madras Native Infantry ("4th Madras") — Commander: Maj. AceEnfield, Esq. This is the official entity by which the United Kingdom and British Army's Asian timezone personnel are represented.
