Description
Motto: "Semper Fidelis", "Always Faithful" The USMC is its own branch of the military, but it sits under the Department of the Navy. Its main job is to supply Marines who can seize and hold bases for the Navy. Marines are experts at amphibious operations—going from sea to land—and can also fight on land and support air operations tied to naval missions. In World War II, they led many island assaults in the Pacific. The Marines have served in every U.S. war and are often among the first troops to fight.
