Era: 1940, WWII (WW2) The Earl of Loamshire's Own is a proud regiment in the British Army. ======================================= Formed in the 1630s by Charles I, the Loamshires served in the English Civil War, the Napoleonic Wars, the Crimea, the Anglo-Zulu War, both Matabele Wars, the Sudan, the Boer War and the Great War, where almost half the regiment was killed at Gallipoli. When the Second World War broke out, the regiment was posted to France as part of the BEF in 1940.
