c. 1976 ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ 𝙱𝚘𝚛𝚍𝚎𝚛 𝚃𝚛𝚘𝚘𝚙𝚜 𝚘𝚏 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚁𝚎𝚙𝚞𝚋𝚕𝚒𝚌 𝙶𝚛𝚎𝚗𝚣𝚝𝚛𝚞𝚙𝚙𝚎𝚗 𝚍𝚎𝚛 𝙳𝙳𝚁 ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ The Grenztruppen are the militarized border unit of the NVA. Unlike standard border patrols, the Grenztruppen are not paramilitary and are instead considered an active armed branch. The Grenztruppen are responsible for enforcing and maintaining national border parameters, including general guard as well as monitoring and administering immigration to and from the nation.
