Description
The 501st Legion, also known as Vader's Fist during the Imperial Era, was a military division within the Stormtrooper Corps of the Galactic Empire that served directly under Darth Vader. Known for their skill and experience on the battlefield, the 501st was highly respected by many within the Empire. Originally apart of the Grand Army of the Republic, the 501st Legion fought at many key battles during the Clone Wars under the command of Anakin Skywalker. By the time of Order 66 and the Great Jedi Purge, the 501st Legion was dispatched to the Jedi Temple on Coruscant to eliminate any and all Jedi within the temple, being mostly successful. During the early years of the Empire, the 501st hunted down surviving Jedi, stomped out rebellions, and seized planets for the Emperor across the galaxy.
