He defeated his imperial rival Carinus at the battle of the Margus river in 285 AD claiming the Empire for himself. After the victory he defeated a few Germanic tribes and then moved to mediolanum and made his comrade Maximian caesar of the West while he took the East forming the diarchy system. 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫: 290 AD
