Description
Bölük Yeniçeriyân (The Bölük Janissaries) The Bölük Yeniçeriyân comprised the household companies of the Ocak-ı Yeniçeriyân, entrusted with duties that extended beyond the battlefield. While fully capable soldiers in war, they were also responsible for protecting the Sultan, maintaining order within the imperial capital, and carrying out assignments of particular importance to the state. Chosen for their discipline, reliability, and devotion to the House of Osman, the Bölük companies represented the prestige and authority of the Janissary Corps.
