Description
𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐢𝐥𝐯𝐞𝐫-𝐒𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐥𝐝𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐓𝐡𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐞 Although there is no formal mention of argyraspidai in the army of Lysimachus, these units were more an honorable title than a clearly defined type of phalanx. From the time of Alexander, they were at the same time, chosen men and veterans, under command of Nicanor, the son of Parmenion. As such, modern hellenistic army like those of Lysimachus could have counted many of them.
