Description
Army of Lurs were recruited as mercenaries to fight Ottomans, and since influential high classes of Bakhtiaris were popular amongst Safavi court, the Lurs gained power and owned multiple lands across Persia and became highest-ranking administrative authorities in favor of the king. Not only Luristan did not have to pay "tributes' themselves, but would even receive "presents' from the king. The medieval armory, and fortress which represented the royal authority of Safavi was centered in Luristan.
