Description
Maritime Law Enforcement Specialists are the Law Enforcement Arm of the United States Coast Guard as their operators are resident law enforcement and force protection experts in the United States Coast Guard. They direct a cutter or station's boarding teams. United States Coast Guard Maritime Enforcement Specialists (ME) are not traditional military police in the sense of the Army's Military Police (31B) or Navy's Masters-at-Arms, whose primary job is policing military personnel and guarding bases. Instead, MEs are dedicated federal law enforcement and force protection professionals.
