𝓟𝓲𝓮𝓻𝔀𝓼𝔃𝓪 𝓡𝔃𝓮𝓬𝔃𝓹𝓸𝓼𝓹𝓸𝓵𝓲𝓽𝓪 The Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth is a massive, decentralized, multi-ethnic federal state formed by the Kingdom of Poland and the Grand Duchy of Lithuania created by the union of Lublin in 1569. Characterized by "Golden Liberty," it features an elected monarch, a powerful nobility (szlachta), and high religious tolerance. Structure: A federal union (not just a personal union) created by the Union of Lublin in 1569. Government: Often called a "Noble's Republic," the state was ruled by a "Sejm" (Parliament) of nobles, limiting the monarch's power. Military/Size: One of Europe's largest states at its peak in the early 17th century, spanning over 1,000,000 km². It successfully fought Sweden, Russia, and the Ottomans. Tolerance: Famous for the Warsaw Confederation Act of 1573, which provided broad religious freedom.
