Description
Theodore Harriot, arriving from the Atlantic coast north, stumbled upon a small, peaceful valley hidden in the shadow of rolling hills and winding rivers. Attracted by the beauty of the place, he founded Theodore on the banks of the valley, turning what began as a simple outpost into the county seat of Harriot County. [Township], [Township], and [Township] are scattered about the county surrounded by forests, gentle hills, and winding rivers, each with its own quiet character and history that have crafted Harriot County for years. Merriton is the smallest of New England's states. It has rocky beaches, quiet fishing villages, and historic towns on the inland. Formerly one of the Thirteen Colonies, Merriton developed through the coast trade, shipbuilding, and textile mills. Merriton is still true to its New England roots yet still a prosperous and well-developed state.
