𝗔𝗥𝗠𝗘𝗘 𝗩𝗢𝗡 𝗪𝗘𝗦𝗧𝗙𝗔𝗟𝗘𝗡 Army of Westphalia SINCE. 10/20/2020 𝙏𝙞𝙢𝙚 𝙋𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙤𝙙: 1807-1815 𝐃𝐄𝐒𝐂𝐑𝐈𝐏𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 Accurate description of Westphalia during the Napoleonic Wars. The Kingdom of Westphalia was a kingdom in Germany, with a population of 2.6 million, that existed from 1807 to 1813. It included territory in Hesse and other parts of present-day Germany. Westphalia, rather than being independent, was a satellite-state of the First French Empire, and vassaIs to its emperor, Napoleon I. It was ruled by his brother, Jérome Bonaparte. Westphalian soldiers were a big part of the French army during the invasion of Russia, they were known for their valour in combat, the Westphalian Guards heroically but unsuccessfully charged the Raevski Redoubt during the Battle of Borodino.
