Em 1864, a Princesa Imperial do Brasil Dona Isabel de Bragança, filha e herdeira do Imperador Dom Pedro II, se ca sou com o Príncipe Gastão de Orleans o Conde d’Eu, membro da Família Real Francesa. Dando origem a Casa de Orleans e Bragança a Casa Imperial do Brasil.
