The Royal Austrian Mountaineer Corp was established as one of the first corps on the newly reformed Royal Military. The Mountaineers were required for defending the vast mountains which occupy the majority of the countries area & are crucial in the nations defence. The Royal Mountaineers currently have four regiments consisting on special roles. The Tyrolean KJ focusing on traditional mountaineer light infantry tactics, The Land schützen special marksman of the regiment, Kärntner Gebirgsschützen specialising on light & medium infantry tactics and the Standschützen consisting of reserves as the home guard.
