------------------------------------------------------------ The 501st Legion, also known 501st battalion. This battalion was an elite unit of clone troopers under the direct command of Anakin Skywalker during the Clone Wars. Since the First Battle of Geonosis, the 501st had gained reputation for being an effective fighting force, often being victorious in battle even against overwhelming odds.
